1999 Trip Schedule

The Rocky Mountain Canoe Club is an organization for paddlers in the Colorado area covering all aspects of paddle sports from flat water to white water with an emphasis on the open canoe.
These were the trips held in 1999, to give you an idea of what the Club offerings were. See Club Trip Schedule for Current Year

Aug 10-16 Green River; Desolation & Greys Canyons     I Camp 10 yes 5 nights on river, mostly isolated-wilderness canyon. Should be medium water level. Expect good weather, hot days and cool nights. Mostly flat water, several easy and fun rapids. There are 2 (I think) class II+/III rapids.
Aug 22-26 Gunflint Trail lakes [near Boundary Waters in Canada]     B-N Camp No No Fishing, camping, swimming. Children welcome.
Aug 31 - Sep 7 San Juan River; Bluff to Clay Hills     N Camp 16 yes Low water trip.Desert canyons, side hikes. Children welcome. Permit fee $18 per person. Sign up by July 26, or call for cancellations

Sep 4-6 Green River, Flaming Gorge     N-I Camp no yes Annual Labor Day weekend RMCC end of summer Rendevous. Starts at base of Flaming Gorge Dam @ 8:00am & ends @ Browns Park 42 miles. Purchase permit at store in Dutch John before, shuttle service $20-25. See BIG trout, outlaw hideouts, fun rapids (II+,III-, lets see more runs down the right side of Red Creek) and great company. There'll be plenty of kids & both young & old.
